Bereavement

The Bereavement Support Group provides confidential, judgement-free guidance and loving support in a safe environment to SCCL residents as they move through grief and find their way to healing.

Assistance is offered in five distinct areas.

  • The general group meets on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month.  Men and women experiencing any type of loss are welcome.
  • Child Loss provides parents and grandparents the opportunity to explore and express their emotions, work through their grief and learn coping techniques, without focusing on the cause of the death.  Meetings are as needed.
  • Widowers group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday for breakfast.
  • Suicide Loss meets informally in members' homes as needed.
  • One-on-one counseling is available for those who feel this would be beneficial.
