Are you ready for some good old rock and roll fun? Then join The Sock Hop Dance Club and dance away to Elvis, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and other greats. This is what we call epic fun! Got any 50s, 60s or similar attire in your closet? Great! Wear it to the Sock Hop dance. 

The Sock Hop Dance Club is a very active, exciting place for people who love to dance and have fun! 

To start you off on the right foot (yeah, pun), we offer lessons in Jitterbug, East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Night Club 2-Step and Hustle.

Friday Lessons: Night Club Two-Step

Our Night Club Two-Step dance lessons begin on September 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Room 1 at the Lodge. Night Club Two-Step is a smooth, elegant dance that is done to slow music. You will need to bring a partner with you for these lessons (sorry, we're fresh out).

Monday Lessons: East Coast Swing

 

Starting September 9, 2024 we will be teaching East Coast Swing; a fun, triple-step swing dance that is perfect for dancing to mid-tempo music, and is easy to learn. Most of the songs played at the Saturday Night dances and by Tribute bands are mid-tempo, so come to our classes and have some fun while you learn some killer moves! Our lessons are geared to take you from beginner to advanced level dancing. Note: Space is limited.

• 1:00 PM - Beginner lessons
• 2:00 PM - Intermediate lessons (requires knowledge of the basics)

        Let her know if you prefer to Lead, Follow or do Either.

Previous Sock Hop (it was a great dance party!)

Where: The Lake House (Antler, Bowers and Catawba rooms)

Join us at the Sock Hop Dance party for a rockin' good time "at the beach" as we dance freestyle, swing, nightclub 2-step, line dance, cha-cha (or whatever you do) to good ol' Rock and Roll music. It's not just a dance; it's an experience! We'll have a photo booth and lots of props so come prepared to party and have a blast with a few crazy friends.

DJ Joe King will be spinning all the hits so if you can't find your friends, it's because they're all at our beach party, and you're not!

NOTE: If you want to quietly sit and ponder the meaning of life, this event is NOT for you.
The joint will be jumpin' so be there or be square!
