They operate on the internet using the Chrome Browser. They are designed for Cloud and internet use. Their updates are automatic from the cloud so you do not have to wait for the operating system to load. Their specialty is using Google's Office suites that masters team based live computing with each other. Some schools have embraced Chromebooks because the Teacher is the IT person in charge and allows constant student contact.
