LLL: Judy Goldman, author of "Child: A Memoir"

Love in the Shadows...Child: A Memoir

Judy Goldman, author of seven award-winning books, will discuss her most recent, Child: A Memoir, which tells the story of Mattie Culp, the Black woman who worked for her family in Rock Hill, South Carolina, in the 1940s and '50s. The book was named a Must-Read Book of 2022 by Katie Couric Media. It also tells the story of Mattie's child, who was left behind to be raised by someone else.

Author Judy Goldman's work has appeared in USA Today, Washington Post, Real Simple magazine, and in numerous anthologies and literary journals. Judy was originally scheduled to speak here in May 2020, on her book Together when all programs had to be canceled because of the pandemic.
