Joining PFP
Membership in Pottery for Pleasure is open to all SCCL Community Association members in good standing.
The SCCL pottery studio is a shared studio with rules and procedures to ensure an enjoyable, safe experience for all. In order to use the studio and fully participate as a club member, we require that you attend an orientation. You will be assigned a mentor who will help you navigate the steps involved in producing a piece from raw clay to a glazed-fired item. There a $10 fee for the orientation to cover the cost of materials. Once you have completed this process and you decide you want to to be a full-fledged member, you will pay the $75 annual membership fee and complete a liability waiver. If you join after July 1st, the fee is pro-rated. This will allow you to purchase clay and use our studio.
Pottery is a fun activity, but it is not for everyone. We hope that our process of exposing you to the joys of the craft will result in you wanting to continue. If however, you find it is not for you, we understand. You will leave with a better appreciation for the work involved in producing the pottery pieces you see.
If you wish to participate in the next orientation, please send an email to Lynne Hesney, [email protected], with your contact information, if you have already not done so. She will contact you and set up your orientation date.
